From music teacher dreams to sports passion
My journey into video production and sports communications started in a place I never expected: music. For most of my life, I thought I wanted to be a music teacher. I grew up performing in theater and surrounded by music, but there was always another passion that kept pulling me in—hockey.
Growing up, I spent countless nights at Bridgeport Sound Tigers (later the Bridgeport Islanders) games at Total Mortgage Arena. At home, I'd watch every hockey game I could, memorizing rosters, calling plays before the referees, and knowing who scored before the announcer even said their name. I was the kind of fan who paid attention to every little detail because I genuinely loved the game.
Over time, I realized hockey gave me the same excitement and connection that music always had. That realization made me want to be more than just a fan—I wanted to be part of the team behind the scenes, creating the stories, videos, and moments that make sports so memorable. That passion is what ultimately led me to pursue sports communications, where I can combine my creativity with my love of the game.
Sharing the thrill of the game
What I love most about creating sports videos and telling these stories is the opportunity to share my joy and passion for sports, especially ice hockey, with a wider audience. When a story is told well, it allows everyone—both the creator and the audience—to feel like a part of the team and truly experience the excitement and energy of the game. Anyone can acquire the technical skills needed to create competent video and audio. However, what truly sets my approach apart is a deep, unwavering passion for ice hockey—not just the execution of the game, but an authentic love for the entire league. This level of passion cannot be taught or learned; it's an intrinsic quality that makes a significant difference in the final product I deliver.
